Trick-or-Treating in a Pandemic

The holidays are here and everyone’s excited for Halloween, trick or treating, and frightening costumes that make wearing a mask a lot less scary. Let’s face it, one of the best parts of the holiday season is the decorations. Whether your favorite holiday is Halloween or Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, there’s plenty of holiday cheer to go around for everyone. Just one thing… this holiday season looks a lot different from all the other ones we’ve ever seen before. Family gatherings and friendly get-togethers might still be on hold depending where you live, but nothing is stopping us from enjoying this year’s holidays from the comfort of our own home. If you plan on laying low this year, then here are a few holidays hacks to help spruce up the vibes. For some places, trick-or-treating might be completely off the table - but it’s not off the shelf!

Create a Haunted House Theme

Have you ever been to a haunted house before? Have no fear, Freedom of Motion is here - here to help transform your home into a friendly haunted house. Feel free to get as spooky as you want with the spiderwebs and candy corn, there’s no wrong way to decorate your Halloween display. Drape the shelves in a dark colored bed sheet or two for a dramatic effect and then decide where you want it, indoors or out. If you’re staying home and handing out treats, then put FOM out front and give those neighborhood zombies a front porch fright. Should you decide to stay in and watch scary movies instead, keep your favorite foods and drinks in easy reach with FOM. Indoors and out, use FOM to create the perfect haunted display for jack-o'lanterns and candy-filled cauldrons. Make Halloween extra magical with FOM’s modular shelving display.

Thanksgiving Kitchen Space

Having survived Halloween’s haunted house theme, there is a lot for us to be thankful for. As the winter gets closer, so do we as we huddle up together in celebration of food, family and friends. With that comes great preparation for the many great meals we’re about to share and what better place to start than the kitchen. “The kitchen is the heart of the home,” especially during Thanksgiving, and you can never have too much storage space - as grandma says. Luckily, FOM was designed to fit in with its modular combinations as a vertical storage system, opening up a lot more space for the freedom of motion (hence the name). Pile up your pots and pans, and mixers and mashers right next to your collection of cookbooks and family recipes in a simple and organized manner. No need to scour through cabinets or rifle through drawers when everything is in plain view and easy to reach off the shelf. Make room for what’s important this year and welcome Freedom of Motion into your home kitchen this Thanksgiving.

Ho-Ho-Home for Chrismahanukwanzakah

‘Tis the season to be jolly, starting with the eggnog. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Kwanzaa, and/or Hanukkah, there’s a greeting for all three; “Happy Chrismahanukwanzakah”! However you celebrate, one thing’s for sure - decorations are a MUST - in and around the home at all times (even after New Years). Christmas time isn’t just about decking the halls with boughs of holly and mistletoes, oh no. It's a time for presents! A time for gifting your loved ones and sharing the holiday cheer with family and friends. Decorated homes all around the world share their special customs and magical traditions on display for all to see. Snow globes and candy canes look beautiful as indoor decorations that sit perfectly on the shelf and border the edges. You can hang stockings and ornaments underneath each shelf as there is even enough space for threading some Christmas lights through and around the display. FOM is a spectacular storage system that acts as a modular display case that grows and adapts with your home. Give your home the gift of “Freedom of Motion” and enjoy creating more memories, year after year.
